Another Big Update

As you can see, I've redone the blog again - or, I should say, I'm in the process of redoing it now. I need a new background, and to add some new pages (and fix the T shirts page) but I'm almost done, for now. I'll probably redo it again in a couple of months, when I have the energy to go in and fiddle with the code.

What else? We moved out of our house and into another at the beginning of May. This place is really small and a million miles away from everything; thankfully, we'll be moving on soon. I'm so tired of moving, but there isn't much for it.

I'm working (finally!) at a pizza place, which is a little embarrassing but ultimately not as bad as it sounds. There are parts of my job that drive me insane, but it's pretty much just a job. Most of the guys there (there are, counting the one that started this week, 5 girls that work there, and over 20 guys) are nice enough. Some are ridiculous and seem to think that because I'm new/female, I'm a) a complete idiot and b) should not be doing anything but bitch work. Luckily, they're in the minority. I really like my bosses, but I wish they would explain to me who is a supervisor and who isn't, so I know who I can tell to stuff it when they wordlessly shove a broom in my face.

In the land of men, I'm perfectly happy with the one I've got... which means that Murphy's Law comes into affect and despite not having gone on a single date during my adulthood pre-M., and despite only being asked out twice between the ages of 16 and 23, I have now, it seems, become a hot commodity. Well. This is a huge exaggeration. But after many years of guys showing next-to-no interest in me, it's really weird. Guys flirt with me on the phone and in person, ask me out, tell me how wonderful I am, despite not really knowing me... call me at really inappropriate times of night, despite knowing that I have a boyfriend... act really awkward around me the next day, as if my annoyance was unjustified... Anyway, even the harmless niceness makes me a bit uncomfortable. And it does, I have to admit, make me wonder where the hell all these guys were from, say ages 12-15 and 16-23. Not that I wish they'd been around; I'm annoyed for my past self, but for my current self, I'm glad they didn't show up.

After what seems like an eternity of being completely drained creatively, I've finally *touch wood* started writing again. It's in dribs and drabs, not the full on, type-like-a-banshee insanity of days of yore, but at least it's something. Once I get my momentum up, I have to decide which project to finish first and just bloody finish it. But for right now, I'm just happy there's something there.

I think that's all of my updatiness for now. I have a million things to do right now, but I'm too cold and tired and hungry to want to do anything other than climb under the covers and nap away the afternoon. Possibly tea could help with this. God, I miss tea.

Devereaux Court & Stuff

So, Devereaux Court is doing pretty well. I spent a good chunk of yesterday learning how to split the sidebar into two columns, which I did manage to do. Then I stayed up late writing posting guidelines and stuff.

This evening, I messaged some writers I know and asked them if they would be interested in joining. So far, I've had two takers, which brings our number to four, with several invites still open. I have to say, I'm reasonably excited about this.

I worked out today, obviously. Yesterday I really pushed myself, and I'm sorry to say that I didn't do the same today. It was unbelievably hot and muggy, but that's sort of a lame excuse. Maybe I'll do better tomorrow.

Tonight, I plan to watch House, work on Aigaion Girl and probably teach my dad how to do some basic photo manipulation.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

I know, I know.

You're probably wondering what I know. Well, I started another blog.

See, I know, I know.

It's not just for me, though, because I don't really need another blog. It's actually something I've been thinking about doing for a while, and just got around to doing because - well, I guess because I was sick today and didn't have the energy to do a whole lot else. It's called Devereaux Court, after the famous coffee house locale, and it's going (supposed) to be a forum for writers to get together and chat about whatever they feel like chatting/posting about - probably it will include story bits, random articles and maybe discussions, as well as questions anyone feels like asking other writers, whathaveyou.

Also, it'll be better written than this. I think I'm running a fever at the moment, so that's my excuse.

Revamp

So, as you can see, I've redone my blog... again.

I'm pretty pleased with myself, actually, since I magaed to get both a stationary background and translucent floating text boxes. As much as I liked my blog the way it was, it felt like it needed some updating.

I've also updated my travel blog, So, Journey, with the help of The Cutest Blog on the Block, and their lovely free backgrounds(this one with the birdies is all me).

Also, I'm thinking of starting a community writing blog, just a bunch of writers hanging around, talking about writing, and bouncing ideas off each other. Might be kinda cool.

Valentine's Day & Some Other Stuff

I hate Valentine's Day. Not just because it was designed by Hallmark as a deliberate cash-grab, but more because people actually fall for it.

Basically, if you're not single on Valentine's Day, you're supposed to make sure that that special someone gets as fat and unhealthy as possible - or buy him/her jewelry. If (God forbid!) you are single on Valentine's Day, you're supposed to sit at home alone and be miserable.

Actually, until a few minutes ago, I had completely forgotten that today was Valentine's Day. I was far more interested in yesterday being Friday the 13th, and spent absolutely none of today feeling sorry for myself because I'm single. Actually, I'm kind of glad to be single right now; the land of men has been a vastly disappointing one of late. It's kind of pathetic.

(somewhat off topic)
Also, it has been brought to my attention that my blog needs still more tweaking. Apparently, for people with certain resolutions, my background gets tiled. I knew this was the case, but thought I had made the image wide enough that that wouldn't matter, regardless of resolution settings. I know how to fix it, but sadly, neither my touch pad nor my mouse are good enough to do proper graphic design work with, which means I'll have to go into my mum's office to fix it. At least I finally got rid of those horrid blue boxes that kept showing up around the edges o
f my images.

Anyway, today actually wasn't a bad day, as random Saturdays go. I got nominated for an award on FictionPress, posted another chapter of Aigaion Girl, wrote a bit and watched Criminal Minds with my family. Now I'm going to have some hot chocolate and probably turn in for the night. Mmm, mm, sleep.

(Additional)
I'm tacking this on to the bottom of this post because I think posting on your blog more than twice a day is unhealthy. Actually, I just like the way the heart picture looks with my flowers, so I want it to stay there another day.

Anywho, I decided to check my traffic on FictionPress, and was extremely glad to find a spike. Go me.If it's a little unclear, the graph goes in date order right to left, so the far left is today.

Emo Notes

So, I redid my blog again. I think it looks a lot nicer - hopefully it will load faster as well. It didn't take me all that long and I think if I could code worth a damn, I would probably be able to make it in the website design business.

I have no idea what to do to boost my FictionPress readership from yesterday. None. I suppose I could go to my hosue, dig up some old stuff and post it, but that feels kinda like cheating. I'm going to have to do something, though, 'cause I've only had eight hits today, which is less than I had on the first.

If you're wondering (and I know you are), the adorable little thing on the trike in the corner is a water drop. It's from some spanish spam my mum got. I made her send it to me. He'll probably show up again, one day when I've forgotten that I've used him already. Because he's that cute.

Well, I've kinda run out of stuff to say. Maybe I shouldn't try to blog every day; it's way too much work.

And Another

I have too many blogs. It may seem odd to those who don't know me that my solution for this was to start another blog. Those who do know me know that that tends to be my solution for pretty well everything.

In this case, though, it kind of makes sense, because I'm planning on combining most of my blogs into this, the super-blog. That means, of course, that there will be almost no sort of cohesion between posts, because I might be writing about anything from personal anecdotes to my latest story to how to read someone's tarot. Hopefully, I'll remember to use my tags, and everything will be relatively easy to find.

I wish I had an interesting post to kick things off with, but honestly, I don't. My life has been supremely boring as of late, and I really have nothing to report - which is why I found the time to teach myself some basic html skills and make this snazzy blog.

So I guess that's it for now. More to follow.
